ゲストYour incredible support allows us to continue our mission of empowering children in Toronto with the vital life skill of swimming, fostering confidence, and ensuring water safety for over four decades.
Today, I want to share an important update that directly impacts our ability to serve the community we both care so deeply about: all 66 school pools in Toronto are currently at risk of closure. This includes the 27 publicly permitted pools that are absolutely essential for running many of our accessible and community-focused programs. This news is deeply concerning, and I wanted to bring it directly to you, our most dedicated supporters, because your understanding and potential action are crucial.
How You Can Help Beyond Your Pledge:
While your monthly pledge is invaluable, there are other ways you can help amplify our voice:
Sign the Petition: If you haven’t already, please consider signing the petition to save Toronto’s school pools.

ゲストThink back to your child’s first swimming lesson. The nervous excitement, the tentative dip into the water, the triumphant grin after their first independent float. These precious moments, etched in our memories as parents, are often nurtured within the welcoming walls of our local school pools. For over 40 years, Felix Swim Schools has been a part of countless such milestones, witnessing the transformation of hesitant children into confident swimmers. But now, a quiet fear is rippling through our community: the very places where these memories are made, all 66 school pools in Toronto, are facing the real threat of closure, including the 27 publicly accessible ones that are the lifeblood of so many learn-to-swim programs. As parents, we need to understand the profound impact this will have on our children and why we must rise up to protect these vital spaces.
What We Can Do, Together, For Our Kids:
This isn’t a battle we have to fight alone. By uniting as parents, we can create a powerful wave of support for our school pools:Share Your Stories: Talk to other parents about the importance of these pools and the impact their closure would have on your children. Personal stories are powerful.
Sign Every Petition: Every signature sends a clear message to decision-makers that this issue matters to families across Toronto.
Reach Out to Your Representatives: Contact your local councillor and MPP. Let them know how crucial these pools are to your family and your community.
Spread Awareness Online: Use social media to share information and encourage other parents to get involved.
The laughter and splashing within our school pools are the sounds of children learning, growing, and staying safe.
We cannot allow those sounds to fade into silence. Let’s stand together, as parents, to protect these vital spaces and ensure a future where every child in Toronto has the opportunity to experience the joy and safety of swimming.
The time to act is now, for our kids. -
